Cabinet Lines

J Wanamaker Cabinetry & Woodwork offers two general styles of cabinet construction: Face frame and frameless.  From that point on, the details are nearly limitless.

This line once offered, called the "Pioneer Line", has been discontinued.  We decided to stop this offering mainly due to the inferior quality of the imported plywood available for case construction.

What we refer to as our Wallingford Line is based on frameless cabinet construction. Sometimes referred to as Euro, Modular,  or full-overlay, this is by far the most popular style of cabinetry we build.  Frameless cabinetry is cost-effective while still allowing you to fully customize your project.

Our frameless case construction is built from high quality, ¾” domestic white maple plywood, never particleboard.  Drawers are typically dovetailed furniture-grade 9-ply Baltic white birch, finished with clear lacquer but solid wood are available.  Door and drawer fronts are offered in five piece cope-and-stick or mitered frame with several  panel profiles to choose from. If you prefer a more contemporary look, flush fronts (slab) are also available. The wood species is yours to decide, with a clear finish, or we will custom match the paint color of your choice, regardless of the manufacturer.  If a stain or glaze is desired, we will work with you to make your design a reality.

Blum hardware is standard with soft-close concealed hinges and full extension under-mount soft-close drawer slides included.  Onsite consultations, field measuring, design, and shop drawings are all included with every cabinet package estimate.  Installation cost will be quoted at the same time as well, leaving no doubt about the final cost of your new cabinetry.

Face frame

The Montlake line is how we refer to the second type of cabinetry we build - face frame.  The most asked for style within this cabinet type is a full-inset front, while partial and full overlay are also available.

All cabinetry in the Montlake line is built with real hardwood face frames, whether paintgrade or natural wood.  Drawer box construction is most often furniture grade 9-ply birch with dovetailed joints and a clear lacquer finish.  Solid wood drawers are also available in nearly any wood species.  Choice of door and drawer front is nearly endless and you choose the finish.

All hardware is Blum under mount soft-close drawer slides and Blum soft-close concealed hinges.  Decorative pin hinges are also available if you prefer.  When it comes to crown and molding details, the sky is the limit.  As always, onsite consultations, field measuring, design, and shop drawings are included in every estimate.  Delivery and installation cost is also included with every estimate.
